Hallway To The Netherworld

Personally I prefer to think, that the light and the tunnel supposedly seen before death are just chaotic visions created by the very last biochemical reactions taking place in a dying brain. That being said I think that such a vision of the last moments before passing away is very interesting, artistically and eschatologically alike.

I was inspired by a contest theme on one of the Polish M&A forums KYUU.PL - 'How would your world look like, if you were about to lose your life?' It's very loosely inspired and not taking part in the contest itself though. It's just that the kyuu admins occasionally have good ideas.
This time I decided to play with perspectives. Drawing the tiles was exhausting. Same as combining the colors. I wanted to achieve such a hue and saturation for the light to seem warm, but at the same time a little disturbing and mysterious. Also, the girl isn't really sure what to expect and she's hesitating.
